“I believe that all clients deserve a chance to feel heard, no matter how big or small an issue may seem. If it is important to you, then it is important to me.”

Jacob P. Finkelstein, an associate at SBWD Law, handles cases throughout the State of Maryland, in a broad range of consumer protection, civil, and estate planning matters, including the drafting of wills, power of attorney, and advance medical directives. Jacob draws upon his experience as a Creditor’s Rights attorney to help clients navigate the murky waters of debt collection and the lawsuits filed against them.

Jacob received his undergraduate education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (“UMBC”) where he graduated magna cum laude. After working as a records clerk for a large Baltimore law firm, Jacob attended the University of Baltimore School of Law. While pursuing his law degree, Jacob spent substantial time outside of the classroom, gaining valuable work experience in the public and private sector. Jacob’s passion for the law was solidified while interning with a private practitioner in Baltimore City, and the Baltimore City Office of the Public Defender. While in school, Jacob also participated in the Immigrant Rights Clinic during his third year, helping clients with Asylum claims and other immigration matters. Jacob also played on the law school’s softball team at various tournaments and local recreational leagues, and was a member of the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Society. Jacob’s experience during his legal studies emphasized his zeal for representing vulnerable individuals.

Following law school, Jacob joined a small family law firm in Carroll County, Maryland, and also worked on numerous e-discovery cases prior to his time as a Creditor’s Rights attorney. Jacob joined SBWD Law as an associate in May 2019.

Outside of his firm responsibilities, Jacob is busy at home with a wife, son, and Australian Shepherd. He enjoys playing and watching sports, especially the Ravens, Orioles and Capitals.
